Building bridges and fostering dialogue

The ASKO Europa-Stiftung is committed to the ongoing development of a free and united Europe. Its primary aim is to mobilise a wide social spectrum to campaign for more democracy, the rule of law and sustainable development in education, science and research. The non-profit foundation is particularly committed to Franco-German relations and the development of the core European region of SaarLorLux. Its diverse educational initiatives, events and projects, such as the international study programs in cooperation with the Europäische Akademie Otzenhausen and the START Saar school scholarship program, focus on encounters and intercultural exchange for young people from different countries and cultures.

The ASKO Europa-Stiftungis a foundation with legal capacity under civil law. Established in 1990, it was endowed with its founding capital by ASKO Deutsche Kaufhaus AG and ASKO Vereinigung e. V. (both based in Saarbrücken). Based in Saarbrücken, the ASKO Europa-Stiftung is located in the heart of the European core region SaarLorLux and close to the European decision-making centres of Strasbourg, Luxembourg and Brussels.
