Online Registration

Registration for the 2020 Franco-German Journalism Prize is possible from 15 January to 1 March 2020 (midnight). Simply fill in the online form and add the required electronic records in the fields intended for them.

Eligible are entries published between 2 March 2019 and 1 March 2020.

The prize is awarded in the categories Video, Audio, Text Contribution and Multimedia:

  • Video category: video contributions shown on TV or published online
  • Audio category: audio contributions broadcast on the radio or published online
  • Text Contribution category: text contributions published in a print medium or online
  • Multimedia category: online publications that combine at least two of the three elements video, audio, text.

The following electronic documents must be entered in part III of the form:

Video and Audio categories:

  • Short biography/biographies of the author/authors in German or French
  • Short abstract in German (20 lines of 60 characters maximum)
  • Short abstract in French (20 lines of 60 characters maximum)
  • Broadcast script
  • List of names of all the contribution’s essential contributors (especially authors, co-authors, if any, producers/directors, actors, camera, sound).

Important: When registering for the Video and Audio categories, please note that the entries need to be mailed to the FGJP on a DVD, CD or USB stick, in addition to the online registration. (Click here for the FGJP’s postal address.)

Text Contribution category:

  • Short biography/biographies of the author/authors in German or French
  • List of names of all the entry’s essential contributors

When registering for the Text Contribution category, please note that an easily legible scan of the submitted entry must be included in PDF format.

Multimedia category:

  • Short biography/biographies of the author/authors in German or French
  • List of names of all the entry’s essential contributors.
